What is that weird?
Avatar
The idea of forcing your brain to create a separate entity that thinks in parallel to you. And beyond that can take control if given the chance?
Avatar

I doubt tulpas are able to do paralell processing
4:01 PM
It's nothing wrong to be skeptical about it. People here certainly are experiencing their companions talking to them etc.
4:02 PM
But a lot of stuff might be exaggerated. In guides or even in the website people, what is written there, is often only opinion of the author.
Avatar
Parallel processing seems to be only for some people. We don't have it, for example.
Avatar
Hrm, interesting
Avatar
I'd like to get into parallel processing myself. Seems very... alien to me however.
4:16 PM
Also the idea of them being able to act as a search system for memories is super interesting
4:22 PM
sorry
4:26 PM
i'm just overthinking it
4:26 PM
and it's making me anxious
Avatar
That's not really a thing, at least to us.
4:31 PM
I don't have any more access to our memories than our host does. It's just like.. remembering things normally.
Avatar
Hrm, intersting.
4:34 PM
I've read in a couple of places about it happening in some cases >>
4:34 PM
Sorry
Avatar
Yeah at least for us, memories are no easier for the tulpa to access than the host.
4:38 PM
I just wanna say things
4:38 PM
and I don't know what
Avatar
Some people have that experience, I guess.
Avatar
We had that exact same feeling. Believe me, I know exactly how it is.
Avatar
It's that damn endless curiosity
Avatar
Anything in particular you are overly curious about, or just a bit of everything? (edited)
Avatar
I mean, you might have picked up on this already but I've already done a ton of reading
4:44 PM
I read a 1 70 page guide, A 40 page one and a ton of other shorter ones on the fourms
Avatar
That's pretty extensive.
Avatar
I've read a bunch of posts and just . . . watched, observed?
Avatar
Hah, you read the Big Book?
Avatar
At this point my curiosity is more in the experience realm in in the gathering information stage.
4:45 PM
I think that's what it's called, yeah 😛
Avatar
Tulpa's Guide.
Avatar
I call it the Big Book because it's Big.
Avatar
That it is, but I red it
Avatar
Props.
4:46 PM
It says a lot of things. Some of which are.. .questionable.
Avatar
Such as?
4:47 PM
Brb, driving
Avatar
I'd have to read it again to find specific examples.
4:47 PM
It's more like a dump of info and you can pick and choose what you take as fact.
4:47 PM
A lot of tulpamancy is just... down to opinion
Avatar
A lot of the things people say seem questionable really. Parallel processing (the real deal) tulpa living in the wonderland cognecent all the time. Not saying people havnt experienced these, but for us. Not really no
Avatar
My guess would be some of the exercises
Avatar
Deleted User 7/31/2018 4:49 PM
I believe a lot of people reporting extraordinary things about their tulpas (living in Wonderland, parallel processing, etc.) are confabulating
Avatar
Confabulating?
Avatar
Making false memories.
Avatar
Deleted User 7/31/2018 4:50 PM
Not really lying but just making things up
Avatar
You remember this happened. You do. Swear it up and down. But it really didn't. You just think it did.
4:51 PM
Not much different from a real memory but for the fact that it didn't actually happen, or didn't happen in quite the way you remembered that it did
Avatar
Deleted User 7/31/2018 4:53 PM
I think that tulpas act as you would expect. If you expect them to live in Wonderland and spend there time with each other, they might report they do it, despite the fact that they don't really live in Wonderland
Avatar
We do like to line up and connect all the dots in a tangible manner don't we?
Avatar
Honestly the thing that interests me the most is the ability to comunicate without language
5:15 PM
I often times find that it is impossible to articulate my thoughts properly so.... hrm
Avatar
Mine still do that 7ish years later. So you will certainly get your fill.
Avatar
We can read each others mind, it's great

Headmate telepathy. (edited)
Avatar
Haha
Avatar

You don't have to think with words. So you don't really have to use them to communicate with your tulpa
5:31 PM
Locations are never referenced with words in my mind
Avatar
With a 4 part system you either learn to be really patient and polite or communicate without words. Only so much space up there at any given time. And we still end up talking over eachother even so
5:36 PM
Though generally it's 2 at a time talking rather than all 4
Avatar
Interesting
5:36 PM
How common is it to have more then one?
5:36 PM
Or rather, have more then two parts
Avatar
Seems pretty common for people around here to have more than 1 tulpa
5:37 PM
Unless I misunderstood the question
Avatar
That was the question, yes
5:37 PM
Interesting
Avatar
It is supposed to be easy to make two tulpa once you have one.
5:39 PM
Some will even let things get out of hand. Stray thought can be interpreted as being a tulpa and some people get stuck making all sorts of tulpa as a result
Avatar
That definitely seems to be a thing. I've seen lots of people talking about that
5:42 PM
I don't know. I'm different in that they just showed up for me. But they behave the same way everyone else's seem to. shrug
5:43 PM
But I guess that's an "alter" not a tulpa. Just started looking into all this other crap recently
5:43 PM
I've had it mentioned
Avatar
Trixie/ I'm just here so I don't get fined.
Avatar
Trixie/ throwback quote to an old Seahawks player named Marshawn Lynch. He's not with that team anymore I think he's with the Raiders now. Anyway he would show up to press releases and all he would say is that he's only there so that he doesn't get fined for not being there.
Avatar
Ah, alright
Avatar
Sorry, kinda abstract
Avatar
Sportsball! Explains why i missed it
5:47 PM
No worries 😛
5:48 PM
No harm done
5:53 PM
Its just so weird and interesting
Avatar
A lot of tulpamancers have multiple tulpas
5:53 PM
And if they just show up instead of you creating them, theyr'e commonly termed walk-ins
5:53 PM
Which, to me, is a subcategory of tulpa
5:53 PM
Alters are something else, that's usually used for DID/OSDD/traumagenic members.
Avatar
Deleted User 7/31/2018 5:54 PM
For some people it's easy to get a character talking to them
Avatar
Yeah I guess. Doesn't seem to be a disorder, but I certainly wasn't handling it well at first.
Avatar
Deleted User 7/31/2018 5:56 PM
Neither were we
5:56 PM
We have a lot of dissipated tulpas now
Avatar
Mine have sworn to destroy any new ones that pop up if they do. Using that very terminology.
Avatar

That's fair
